Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why are lego games sooo underrated?

Look, so heres the deal. I recently got my little brother lego indiana jones 2 for his birthday. I also have lego star wars the complete saga (in fact it was my first ever game on PS3). I thought at first that they were too young for me buy man was i wrong. When i first had lego star wars complete saga me and my brothers had so much fun playing it and even played it when we had finished it it was so fun. We then got Lego indiana jones 1 and i must be honest. I did not like it. But then i got 2! it is so fun now it seems lego games improve everytime a new game comes out. they are challanging but not too hard, fun, very interactive. you can now even create your own levels in indiana jones 2. For me it doesnt get much better.

But... for some reason not many people like it. Do you find it fun? because i am starting to think that people dont play lego games just because they think they are to old and if thats true i think its a real shame. Love to hear your views on this as i feel i need to know.

Wait... does this mean im not human?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

The circles you're hanging out in are not representative of most people.  The games continue to sell extremely well precisely because real people actually do like the games.

Yep. I own a few of them and they are fun. My kids have thoroughly enjoyed them. I always wait a couple months for them to be $20. Best coop game for anyone of any age really.

Lots of people enjoyed some version of Lego Star Wars game(s) which has been out for about 8-9 years now and sold countless millions.   However, as fun as they are each new 'Lego ___' is just generally more of the same.    How many times can you go to the same well before you run dry?  Traveller's Tales seems determined to find out.

However, I'd buy a Lego Lord of the Rings in a heartbeat.  Com'on TT, make it happen.

They're essentially re-hashes of eachtother, and Tarveller's Tales seems to not put any effore in fixing what's wrong with the games (no save points, bad platforming etc.). It's been this was since the series debuted, and scuh lazyness is a huge turn-off.

I've loathed Lego Harry Potter, don't know about Indiana Jones, and the Batman was pretty rubbish too, just not my type of games i guess, everyones entitled to their opinion, Lego games just don't seem to be that mainstream in your area, you never know, there might be whole lego games centric communities in the world.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Yes, I like them and I don't think they're underrated at all. Excellent sales, good review scores for a franchise with such a limited gameplay.

Underrated on internet gaming forums only, but which games outside T-/FPS, W-/JRPG aint't underrepresented in gaming discussions these days?

I got Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter. One per franchise is enough for me though and I'm not interested in the Batman one (I have to like the corresponding movie franchise to enjoy the games).

I will also get Lego Pirates of the Carribbean and I hope Traveller's Tales are allowed to make fun of Lord of the Rings some day. Lego James Bond would be nice, as well.

World's 2nd best slapstick humor gaming franchise in my opinion, only topped by Nintendo's brilliant Laurel & Hardy franchise, better known as Mario & Luigi.
