Forums - Gaming - Star Ocean 4. Why so underappreciated?

I was definitely disapointed when I finally got a chance to buy it on the PS3. It isn't as good as Star Ocean 3 and it's not even close to the greatness of 1 and 2.  I like the battle system though.

actually I do, and I couldn't finish the game because the battle system was FFX with slowga casted upon it.

Telling someone to play with the Japanese voices on is probably the opposite of productive - few people get their rocks off listening to languages they don't understand and the ones that do don't have a great reputation.

Using Lymle and her "kay" as a definng argument against the game is like the poeple that throw tantrums about the laughing scene in FFX - it was stupid then and it's stupid now.

SO4 is awesome.

timed 360 exclusive and an absurd price when it finally came out on ps3 really prevented me from ever getting interested in this game. 

edit: I'm not sure how much time elapsed between the 360 and ps3 release but I really dislike charging full RRP for a one year plus port! At least with Mass Effect 2 that game was one of the best of 2010 and had all the DLC on disc.

why that when you can listen in english and most anime dubs are good to the people who like dubs.

I know Sega made the game, I was just saying that a Final Fantasy Tactics 2 made by Matsuno with Valkyria's style would be probably be one of the greatest game ever made.
