It's pretty much the same technology as always I would say. A camera "reads" a special picture (Eye of Judgment on PS3, Invizimals on PSP, AR cards on 3DS) and then the video game system generates a 3D model based on that information. In the end it's just something to fool around or to show off, once you've seen it a few times you likely won't care for it anymore, because how does this substantially add to the game experience?

But even if the NGP can transform any random picture into a 3D model, it's still not going to be the next big thing in gaming.

But then again, I'm not the mos timaginative and innovative person in the room.

I dont knwo if I am a fan of this.

Look at reality TV it has killed GREAT TV with GREAT story that required your brain to think. This looks like it will have the same impact on gaming.
