I'm not sure if that was a dig at me or not...I'm just saying, truly horrible games aren't nominated or winning awards like that, so a large percentage of gamers obviously think those games are great. So it stands to reason that there should be no reason why this new game will suddenly be terrible.

Also hivemind...bee suit mario in galaxy...bee hive....coincidence?

Heheh, nice conclusion.

But my overall point is that many of the posters here who are bashing the Galaxy games truly, honestly don't care for them as much as they do for other Mario games, so they would much rather avoid having more games in that style.  This is true notwithstanding the fact that millions of others obviously feel differently.  There's nothing wrong with either perspective, so why attack them for voicing their opinions?

My sentiments exactly.

If it came down to only having one or the other, then yeah I'd choose 2D Mario as well.  But fortunately we don't have to choose, as everyone knows a side-scroller is in the works.

Why would Nintendo realease a new 2D handheld Mario this soon when NSMB DS is still tearing up the charts?  And what better way to demonstrate the perspective advantages of stereoscopic 3D than with a title like this?

Makes perfect sense to me.

Oh I wasn't attacking, or not meaning to anyway. I was just trying to look at it from the big picture. I'm not a big FPS fan, but just because I dont like call of duty, i'm also not silly enough to suggest that the next one will "flop" or "bomb" because I know that most everyone else loves those games and CoD are some of the most well made FPS' out there.

I don't attack anyone,but if i had a bee suit i would.

LISTEN TO THE FIRST WORLD PODCAST REAL GAMERS, REAL AWESOME

Super mario bros >3(tree as in forest in-land)>LAND>WORLD>SUNSHINE(Sun,repersenting the solar system)>GALAXY.

Logic tells us there is only one name this next mario game can have:

SUPER MARIO UNIVERSE

My 3ds friendcode: 5413-0232-9676 (G-cyber)

I get your point and agree with you that there's a lot to love about good 3D Mario games (Sunshine, so far, is the only one that disappointed me personally).

And what better way to spread their appeal than with stereoscopic 3D:  It could help to dismiss that the 3D effect is merely a gimmick if it does indeed help people navigate in 3D platformers.

It does look fun. But, I probably wont bother getting a 3DS until I see 5 or more games I really  really want. Such as 2D Mario ,Mario Kart, Kid Icarus. The JRPG's would help too.

Me, it's going to be awesome.

Did anyone crapping on about how much harder 2d is compared to 3d ever play NSMBds? MY granma finished that game 100% in a day and she's blind!

Almost as good as my grandpa, who finished it in the afterlife.

Above: still the best game of the year.

She must be grateful for the system introducing touch controls!

Becasue NSMB DS has so many touch controlls.

I have never had a problem judging distances in the 3D games, but I am very excited for a 3D Mario on the 3DS.  A 3D game on a 3D display?  Yes, please.  This is actually the number one reason that I want a 3DS.
