Okay then. The part where Link cuts the vine bambbo remembers me of a Wii Party minigame, and while I like puzzles, they break the action too much, especeially if they will be as often as I think. The enviromnets look boring and nothing that hasn't yet been done in a Zelda game. The battles at the end were cool, but that villain looks boring and is being controlled by Ganoin anyways.

It very likely was a minigame shown. When did we come to demand depth and meaning from Zelda minigames?

They shouldn't be there at all, this isn't Middle-ages Party .

So...

NES Zeldas are the only true Zeldas then

I've been hearing this from more and more people lately and it's not less disconcerting

I didn't say that, but they keep implementing things that make them less Zeldaish. Aonuma want's to add 5 million heart pieces out there, but they just turn out to be a collect-a thon because the games are so easy, and therefore having more life is tottaly useless.

Above: still the best game of the year.

What does this have to do with minigames?

And are you saying that minigames make a game less Zeldaish?

Or it could just be a remix of Majora's Mask's sword practice minigame. There weren't many puzzles shown in this trailer, so it's anybody's guess how frequent they will be. The environments look boring because pretty much all scenes in this trailer are from battles where it's hard to get a good view on the environments and the likelyhood to see interesting structures is low by default, because most of the battles in previous 3D Zelda games also didn't take place at the most impressive looking locations.

Yup, I agree that they didn't show anything that hasn't been done before, the only new thing is the inclusion of Motion Plus sword combat and a couple of new items. It's just your guess that this villain plays a major role, for all we know it could just be the boss of a single dungeon with no further presence in the game.

Dudes with a face generally are villains in Zelda games, specially if they look humanish. Dungeon bosses are generally monsters.

I don't think any of these features make Zelda popular, they just make it more niche to the Zelda fanbase. That might be fine to you, but a series that can't expand beyond it's current fanbase will just shrink.

Since there has not been a Zelda game that "looks awesome" while someone else plays it, it'd probably be best to reserve judgment till the game gets some hands-on previews

You are trying desperately to avoid a simple "yes" or "no".

Also this is an incredibly tired argument; if you're going to parrot Maelstrom, please, do it at someone else.

P.S. You don't have the first clue as to what made or makes Zelda popular, and your opinions on that matter are completely void.

Loved how the trailer convince me the continuation of the dumbing down of the series.

Spider- Derp derp hit my big vital point on my belly which I will stand up on my hind legs and show to you derp.

Giant- Hurrr me have big shield yet link easily cut through it hurr.

More puzzles, more closed off areas.  Nintendo keeps taking away more and no ones the wiser.

Admittingly I'm still adjusting to the new art direction.

It looks A LOT more action oriented, though, which I'm liking. Gt them Motion Plus going on.

We have not seen close to enough of anything to make assumptions about the general makeup or layout of the game, and any conclusions drawn as to the overall amount of content, level structure, or design are inherently flawed and baseless.

People complaining about Skyward Sword? Then I have to wait for the comments praising Twilight Princess.

If it's to similiar to other Zeldas - bad

If it's to different to other Zeldas - bad
