Forums - Nintendo - NEW SKYWARD SWORD TRAILER!!!

After a few days of watching the trailer, a few comments. Concerning the art style, I think it looks great, but I can see how the pastel subdued colours could make the graphics less appealing to some. Reason why there are a few people calling out for WindWaker's vibrant colours.

This second trailer is similar to the first one, focusing on the motion plus gameplay and added features the Wii offers rather than showing the scale or magnitude this new Zelda adventure has. From the gameplay shown seems like only 45 degrees sword strikes are rendered on the shield slashing and even on the bamboo cutting sequence. Enemies looked better, I didn't really like the orange/red fat one they showed on E3...

That's a nice analysis and a nice photo. I like the middle one the best

There are more analysis on the art style and enemies at ZeldaUniverse.
Here you have what they've done so far:

I like the first one. For SS they could have updated the style and added more detail.

But not this...

It all seems to be going in the right direction IMO, those comparisons show how the enemies have evolved (par se) over time.

Why all the hate?

That comparison is awful. I don't recall TP looking that bad ever. Looks like they blew up a 16x16 bitmap... What the hell? Still not set on the art direction, but I won't let that stop me from enjoying what will undoubtedly be a very good game.

Doesnt look like they really changed anything form the past gen Zeldas. Guess, this is another pass.

Combat/puzzles with Motion Plus is nothing new? Changing the game's world structure is nothing new (though that doesn't show in a combat vid)?

Or is this a problem of a Zelda game looking like a Zelda game? Because it's not going to look like anything else...
