Wiitalia: Is Eurocom satisfied with how GoldenEye 007 performed from both a sales and critic point of view? Eurocom: Yes, immensely satisfied. We’re really happy that it’s reviewed well and that the public is continuing to enjoy playing it online. We’re satisified with the sales as we’re tracking very well. Wiitalia: The first GoldenEye game was released quite a long time ago: which are the elements that you’ve improve in GoldenEye 007? Eurocom: Hopefully everything. The original on the N64 is like any other game if you go back 13 years – it was of its time. It’s still a great game and I think structurally it still has things that contemporary games tend not to have. I do have very fond memories of it but I don’t tend to go back to games that are thirteen years old. Wiitalia: Goldeneye has a very cinematic feel, thanks to its impressive cut-scenes. This is undeniable proof that even on a less powerful console like the Wii, it is possible to release this kind of games, although many software houses often claim otherwise. Eurocom: We’re not sure really. There’s roughly 12 million Wiis in North America alone but it’s not really a console that a lot of shooter fans are playing on. Maybe it’s because they don’t like using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Hopefully we’ve changed that and with support for the Classic Controller Pro we’re putting something into a shooter fan’s hands that they instantly know how to play. http://www.wiitalia.it/2011/03/02/intervista-con-gli-sviluppatori-di-goldeneye-007/lang/en/
Why, in your opinion, only a few titles of this kind have been released on Nintendo’s home consoles?
