Forums - Sales - 3rd party support for Wii is going fairly well.

Thx1138
I used the worldwide weekly from 15th december. week, and there were no solid numbers on how much nintendo games were sold on Wii only. There were for Ds + Wii though.

Edited it, now even Thx 1138 should be able to understand it (I hope) :O

It seems like every random, moderately hyped 360 game sells 100,000 or more first week -- I hope the Wii can manage that eventually.

I wonder how much Capcom would want Z&W to sell before it considered making a sequel? I try to get every Wii owner I know to at least try it, so gdlk

Ghaleon.

Wii has something else than great 1st week sales, the games have legs.

For instance:
Perfect Dark Zero: 200k US alone first week. More than two years later - 900k.
Mass effect: First Week: 380k. Next 3 weeks: Less than 300k.

To opposition to this:
Launch sales
1) 66,939
2) 42,218
3) 41,832
Launch sales
1) 97,734
2) 74,776
3) 104,651
Launch sales
1) 89,616
2) 146,492
3) 200,224

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games that is.

Of course, this isn't the situation with all Wii and 360 games, but 360 games have HUGE week 1-2 and Wii games have legs.

I'm going to judge which console has best third party support in a year, when it is a bit more defined

Why would Zack and Wiki sell more in Europe? I live in Norway, and here good, yet "kiddy" games tend to sell bad.

I think he is basing this off the fact that Games like M&S and Brain Age sell better there. They seem to be more casual and less "core" than us gamers.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

Just out of curiosity, how many copies does a Wii title need to sell in order to be profitable? From what I understand it is significantly less money to develop for the Wii than it is for the 360 and PS3.

Anyone have an idea off hand?

Its not what people say that is offensive, it is how we react to it that determines offense or not- REBT theory of Albert Ellis.

Depends on the game I guess.  Carnival games probably around 20 copies.  Big Brain Academy probably around 500 copies.  Red Steel around 300,000.

It's a rumor, but...  supposedly they are already working on one that will be released Q4/2008 or Q1/2009.
