@stof: I think that's because almost no one is selling it at the MSRP?

Edit: Scratch that, it appears that Capcom raised its MSRP to $50 after release at $30... Wish I bought one when it was released...

Everyone seems to be forgetting the million of zappers that will be hitting the market over the next year. What is the best game for use with it? Oh wait it's RE:UC and that is what any store clerk will tell someone. No house of the dead reamake is going ot take that title away. So I figure if people end up liking their zapper this game will have monster legs.

And since Capcom saw how well RE4 sold on their Wii I am sure their expectation were higher. Without it they probably would have assumed 400,000 lifetime. So no it won't catch RE4 because it is $20 more expensive, and wasn't Game of the Year, and there are sonsiderably mroe titles on the Wii now.

It's legs may be smaller than RE4 but that is a silly comparison. The only games wiht better legs are Mario Party and DS titles. I am still pretty confident in 1 million. Europe is a slow burner, this game will sell well there for a long time.



Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

Where are you getting the 620k expectations in it's lifetime? I am fairly certain that was an expectation of shipments by March of 2008. Not sales, and not lifetime.

I never expected RE:UC to do as well as RE 4 on the wii. I think I was one of the minority that stated that (ok, probably about 1/3 of the people prior to it's release stated that).

Will Capcom be happy? With 640K Lifetime expectation, and tracking at 500k in one month... Hell Yes.

This thread should be renamed to:

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles doing GREAT in sales

This game should easily pass Capcom expectations, perhaps already did since the 620k number was, indeed, number for shipped units.

This game should sell at least 800k to customers with shipments over 900k and very likely over 1mil

Very true...  just because RE 4 over preformed, doesn't mean RE:UC underpreformed...

RE4 is $30. RE:UC is $50.

I never saw an MSRP for RE:UC of $30. It was always $50.
That's why right now I have under my Xmas tree a Zapper and Ghost Squad.
I will get UC, just when it is more approrpriately priced.
(Or in the spring game draught. Or when I can get a used copy).
