when will you ever learn that hardware sales mean nothing without software sales to compliment them. Do PSP gamers selectively choose to ignore this simple fact because the reality of the matter is too hard to bear or does the linear logic of "More Hardware Sold = Success" too tempting to resist?

Also as it has been pointed out several times already, calling what little the PS3 managed over the holiday season a comeback is not only premature but quite honestly laughable. You have every right to be excited about this mild turn around but calling it a come back as this thread would imply is just... well, laughable.

Your willingness to pounce on the slightest bit of positive news as the "return of the King" for Sony just shows how desperate Sony supporters have been during this period where we were assured regardless that everything was going according to plan for Sony domination. The critics of this thread aren't here so much to put the PS3 down as they are here to ask the rabbid Sony supporters in this thread: "Have you no pride in how shamelessly you praise such a meager achievement for the console you had all along assured us would be #1?"

Well selling as much as the 360 after getting thumped all the time is a comeback I'd say. It just has a loooooong way to go.

Yeah ... the domination starts. Now, we just have to stop the 360 from selling, stop folks from buying Wiis and we'll keep chipping away at that 7.3M lead that the 360 has.

I was reading in a Game Informer mag about successful consoles. You know what it said? When a console hits 10M, you know it's got a gaggle of casual gamers affecting sales. The first mil and even the second and third mill are diehard gamers. The first 10M? Nah ... it's a following of sorts.

Where did I ever say domination? I just said it made a comeback, as in it can now compete and hold its own.

So let me get this straight you basically *hate* the PS3 but have a Playstation-exclusive franchise as your name?

In trying to calmly think of a way to respond to your horridly misunderstood interpretation of my stance blood suddenly began shooting from my eyes and I had to take a break from the computer to let my sanity regain itself. I owned a PS2, I like a lot of games that were on the PS2. Just because a person likes games that were on a console does not mean they by default must support that console as their prefered choice or by obligation must support that console's successor. The PS2 was a common sense purchase last generation regardless whether it was your favorite console or not. However, the PS3 is not the same common sense choice. In addition, Onimusha was ported to the Xbox and a unique Gameboy Onimusha game was also published shattering your claim it is a Sony only franchise. It is first and foremost a Capcom franchise and Capcom is free to do as they wish with their franchises. I would also like to thank you not to summise my dissaproval of the PS3 as a viable choice in gaming as blind hate as I have more than enough valid reasons to justify my personal stance on the matter. You my friend are bit misplaced in your assumptions...

Wow , you are really blind ... arent you . Saying that hardware sales dont count is literally ret....  Yes , software sales matter a lot , but on what can a console even base its software sales , if it doesnt has no hardware sales . The PSP can allways have good software sales , the question is when will really huge games come . GTA games sold well , Burnout Legends did extremly well , PES games are doing great on the PSP , same is with MHF , and CC and CoO will probably sell millions to ... bealive me , if the PSP would be only at 10 millions sold , than even higher attach rate wouldent help it . Also , Sony is making money on PSPs , so yeah , hardware sales matters  a lot ...

Oh, Hardware sales do matter, just not as much as Software sales though. The PSP is not a success in selling Hardware, it would only be a success in selling Software. Though to keep having faith in the PSP, I guess you have to turn a blind eye to this fact.

The 360 have almost reached its peak with the release of Halo 3, Gears of War. Now I believe 2008 will belong to Sony for second place.

Sure some may argue that a 360 next price cut will continue its strong sales and it will, however the it will be temporary. Sony will continue to dominate the European and Japanese region as I mentioned a while ago plus close the gap between the 360 and PS3.
