Sony got rid of him because they finally realized that if they kept him, it'd be a threat to the Xperia Play. The whole point of Marcus PSP was to show how the PSP has better games than "wimpy phones games". That would be bad for business, now that Sony is starting to adopt these little games like Angry Birds.
