Forums - Sales - 2011 Blu-ray Sales Percentage Tracking

I wonder why it seems as if TV shows haven't had a significant change over to Blu-ray yet.

I hope so too,  I was actually surprised to see Avatar fall out of the Top 20 the last couple weeks

Every week it looks like it is going down even further. I wonder if it will become a full standard.

It is coming off the holidays.  Its no different than anything else really.  Its just settling down is all.  The main number most people do seem to keep missing is that it is up from last year.  Which is just as important as its weekly percentage.

Not to mention the Top 20 percentages in each table.  When movies like The Social Network pull 45% on Blu-ray in its opening week,  things are looking good.  Most of last year very few titles came close to the 50% mark on release date. Now it seems there are a few every week that do it

Interesting stuff, I did notice the top 20 percentage as well, in the first week, but I think blu-ray still has a long way to go before becoming the standard. Also keep up the good thread as always.

Vetteman, question.  If Blu-ray does eventually become the standard, do you think the investment may have been worth it?  There must be some pretty good money in the business right?

I dont know,  it would depend on what the expectations were from the corporations.  I havent heard of any company losing money on it.  So I would expect that it has been a good investment.
