lol no. I have enough money for myself. Anyone who has shouldn't get in the way of others who create and try to make a living for themselves. This is my point. I play for my games and I pay for them. SImple concept.

Can you explain what he is about? What are his reasons? So far, all I've noticed is a whole bunch of bragging and then back peddling when he gets called out. His a 21 year old guy who's looking for an ego boost at any oppurtunity he can get and the only quality he seems to have is that he can hack stuff. If he wasn't such an ass, then he would have leaked the master keys anonymously and avoided this whole situation, but he wanted to be the big man and now Sonys going to bankrupt him into Oblivion. 

He isn't 'about' anything. He just doesn't give a shit and now that his realised that he can't hide behind the internet, he has to face the harsh consequences. He isn't anti-piracy, pro Linux, pro consumerism, he just cares about himself and spouts a whole lot of saint like rubbish to attract the pirates, anti corporatists and hackers, mainly so they can all talk about how evil Sony is, while patting each other on the back.

If you can, please tell me what Geohot is about and what were his motives for trying to hack the PS3 from the beginning.


Who gives a shit on what he's about? The point is Sony shouldn't win this shit. Why do you need to know what he's about in order to know what Sony is trying to do or what the case is about or the consequences followed by it to us consumers should they win? I don't know Geohot personally nor do I give a shit about ever knowing him, I simply think outside of the tiny box that a lot of people are stuck in.

Outside of the extremely small minority, this case isn't going to harm anyone, your using hyberbole as a strength to your argument and it only makes you look a little crazy. You do not represent me or the other 99% of consumers who are extremely happy with the services that Sony provides us, you represent you and your little group. Anyone that supports Geohot is selfish, because they'd rather the miniscule minority takes all the benefits, while leaving the normal majority to suffer from online cheating, DRM, less development support, key codes and whatever other consequences that follows Sonys attempt to protect their network and games.

Also, Koweniki and that other guy brought up Geohots motivations, not me. I just came in to ask what Geohots original motivations were and how (from what I've read and seen) they were never about protecting you as a consumer, but instead it was just all about stroking his ego. 



Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Yeah I see after looking at previous comments. I'm not gonna pretend to understand what this whole thing is about, but if I'm in the same page as you guys, he can't expect people not hack and pirate the living hell out of PSN or whatever it was he unlocked. Does he think the world is purely filled with honest people with good intentions? Come on.

Can't believe people are actually donating. The guy's an egotistical fool. He managed to hack the PS3 but then shoved it all into the wild with no thought as to the ramifications. 

And to all the people supporting him because of the whole freedom of ownership issue; I seriously doubt anything major will come of this bar the immediate and case related issues being resolved. Honestly, it just sounds like paranoia to me.
