I want a 3DS and I will be getting a 3DS but I dont think I can raise the money by launch day so ill just have to sit tight and finish my remaining ds games. As to why I prefer it it comes down to its cheaper, has 3d and even if that is only a gimmick ill still get plenty of great games especially niche ones which are my favorites. The NGP is also cool but lets face it it will need huge development costs so little gems are not going to come across it or at least not in huge quantities. The 3ds will launch shortly and I have already seen games like Phoenix Wright vs proffesor layton, 2 rpgs made from well known rpg developers, other level 5 games and I can see much more coming in the future.

I'm interested in the NGP as well so I might get it in the future.

I want both, since they both look really cool.

I'm only getting a 3DS because I only have so much money and I would rather have a variety of games on one system then a limited amount on two....... and I trust Nintendo more with their games.

I'll be getting a NGP some time around launch quite likely, as I'll just have gotten a load of cash, and celebrating it would be nice! I'm really interested in the 3DS too, but the NGP has much greater value to me. I already have a DSi so the BC in the 3DS doesn't mean squat to me, whereas I never owned a PSP and I have a bunch of games I would like to catch up on. Playing them with visual enhancements on that sweet looking screen will be nice! 

Plus, having that second analogue stick should allow for more quality controls in games, something that has hamstrung portable gaming for me for a while.

I'll be getting both but i'll end up purchasing the NGP first.

I say the choice has never been tougher. If the NGP is  299 bucks, I think I'm going to get a NGP. Else, I'll probably go with the 3DS. If the NGP is under 300, I might as well get both.

Which do I want? Both of them!

Which will I get? None, at least at launch. We don't know NGP price and I have to test the 3DS first to see if I get sick or not.

And then there is the traditional 1$ = 1€ that lately pisses me of.

I mean today, feb 19th, 1€ is roughly 1.35$, so 3DS' 249$ are 184.45€. In Spain our tax for electronics is 18 %, so the real price should be 218 €. Yet we must pay 30 € more!!! That's unacceptable!

At this point in time I think the 3DS is reasonably priced, with reasonably priced software, will have games I am interested in at (and soon after) launch, and has several games on the horizon which I am interested in; therefore I will be getting a 3DS.

In contrast, I don't know what the NGP or its software will cost (and I have a feeling it will be expensive), and I don't see any software I am interested in; therefore I have yet to see anything that would make me commit to buying it, or to see any reason to own it yet.

I already have a PS3 so NGP isn't needed at this time.  Uncharted, Killzone, and Little Big Planet will be better on the big screen anyway.

I only have about $30 left and I will have my 3DS paid off.  I will get Pilotwings and play DS games like Pokemon Black and White and Okamiden for  a while.
