There's a large amount of Killzone 2 veterans that don't like KZ3's direction.

This post summarizes it exactly. Just like MGS 4. PS3 fanboys (myself included) were desparate for a system seller so that my friends wouldn't laugh at me having a PS3. These days everyone (obv not everyone) either likes or has gotten a PS3 the past 2 years so the need for overhyping no longer exists.

this and I'm one of them,
I would have killed for a copy of killzone 2 (pun intneded) me and my friends back in 08 ran our own hype trains while playing resistance 2, and when PS Home came out we did a full blitz of "user marking" because we knew Sony wouldn't do anything -_- (we were right)
then the game came out and It ROCKED the innovative clan system unique controls and engaging gameplay made it one of the best shooters ever, I mean COD noobs cried like the noob cry baby B*****S that they are, we didn't mind, until about 3 months in GG release a update that butt fucked the games multiplayer into oblivion. and Killzone 3 has gone full on in the "we can be like call of duty also" so all the hype you would have saw isn't gonna happen.
funny too, killzone 3 will actually be the grneric p.o.s. many morons called kz2.
because ps3 fans no longer need to hype average games. GT5 being the exception because of many people who think its the best racing game period, ps3 fans have actual triple A games to look forward to. Killzone is not a triple A series. It was an average shooter with amazing graphics and weird controls some people grew to love because they seemed to think it made the game more hardcore. And people can go on and on about reviews not being reliable, etc, but as soon as the game they like gets a high metascore they proudly boast about it. People think review sites are bad, but its really their hypocracy and their unwillingness to accept anything that goes against their opinion thats bad. And that goes towards almost everyone, me included.

Lol what?! That's some messed up logic. So you think people are paid to give games a bad score? Wow... and here I thought the usual excuse was companies were bribed to give good scores, not bad...

Honestly. Yes I do. Money can make people do anything.
- Too many FPS games coming out
- Quality releases before ( LittleBigPlanet 2, Dead Space 2, and Marvel vs Capcom ) and after it comes out
- The reviews aren't as good
Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

But who would pay them to do that? That's just completely stupid and illogical. Pay them to give a good score, yes, but to give a bad score? Nahhh, that's even more conspiracy theory than the paying to give good scores excuse.
People all have their own opinions. Killzone 2 received inflated review scores because of the graphical prowess and attention it had at the time, imo, which isn't the case with Killzone 3. I still loved KZ2 and will be buying KZ3 at midnight next Monday and can't wait, and it's not like an 86 is a bad score, either!!!

86 is not a bad score by any means but you can't tell me that KZ3 didn't get hit by a double standard. KZ3s story is apparently so important that it gets trashed while MW2/ Black Ops story gets a free pass? Come on something isn't right here.

I'd have to agree with this. No doubt in my mind rival companies are paying some reviewers to rate the game of their opponents badly.
Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.
