It’s always interesting to see what Japanese gamers, whose tastes in gaming are vastly different than those of most overseas gamers, choose in polls held by their respected media outlets. Dengeki, a weekly magazine, recently asked its readers to vote on their favorite characters, developers, and games of 2010.

We’ve translated their readers’ selections for your easy reading below. Interestingly enough, God of War‘s Kratos made the top five character list.

I don't see a problem with Kratos being above Mario in a Character competition.

Kratos is a terrible character, and I don't even think he is better then the typical Nintendo mute character. Glad to see a lot of Graces F characters on that list, as well as Graces F high up on the games list. If the Miku in first place is who I think it is then no friggen surprise there, the Japanese love her. Snake is great though so I'm glad he's so high up there.
