Forums - Website Topics - How about this site have a soapbox/editorials with professional opinions?

I busted on one article on here, and questioned the professionalism of the news reports.  Well, I wanted to make a suggestion for the editorial side.  How about this site have a soapbox/editorial section where professionally written articles and editorials can be written?  Make it a regular feature, and bring people in.  Things like complaining about videogame ratings, defense of motion control, and other things could go there?  Also, allowing the airing of good opinions of things, would be worth noting.  The goal would be to reach common ground about the state of the videogame industry, rather than just have it turn into a fanboy war?

Anyone else interested in this site doing that?

Wait, there isn't one now? You could submit your own articles back in good ol' 2.0.

Wouldn't that be the same as the site articles?  *guffaw*  I kid, I kid.

I was thinking of having it as a regular feature with a title that remains consistent.

What on earth is a professional opinion? Can you get a degree in stating opinions now?

What you suggest would be uniting a series of independent editorials together under a brand name? We don't all think the same way. I'm sure plenty of people on staff disagree with my editorials, but that doesn't really matter.

And also, don't tell us what to write. If you want to write about "positive things" and the "state of the industry", then by all means, sign up and do so.

Am I dense or is there no way to filter articles so I can read just the recent editorials on gamrFeed?

op-ed columns in newspapers.

This is a good idea, as it will leave the news section objective. Sometimes stories look like evidenced claims on the title and I'm disappointed when they're personal views in a forum-post like tone.

I just read through some of the editorials and while I think the quality is a mixed bag, some of them were quite good and made for interesting reads. I'm not sure what you guys are complaining about. They're marked "editorial" right next to the image.

Sigh. I'd love to go back and write about gaming but I am WAY too mired down with other projects to even consider it at this time (not that I even know whether I'd be welcome to write for this site again after all these changes, just thinking aloud).
