Yep, its also worth noting that even SONY knows they screwed up with Demon Soul's with various figures claiming "We made a mistake not publishing it[Demon's Souls] in the west. It really should of been a 1st Party title"

 OT: It will probably sell 2million lifetime, though i expect it to be an evergreen title, selling 3-5k on each platform for a long time. Sales will start off ok, but noting amazing and will grow on both platforms as former fans buy the PS3 version and those who own a 360 but not a PS3 will likely give Dark Souls a go given the reviews it is expected to get and the reception the video game media / reviewers gave Demon Souls.

I think Dark Souls could go either way.  Demon's Souls really was the right game at the right time, in the west it rode the new wave of slim PS3 owners and it had amazing buzz and word of mouth.  It was also exclusive, which always gives games a special shine for platform evangelists.

Dark Souls won't have either of those advantages, and it's now being published by Namco Bandai in the US, who has a reputation for mismanaging franchises into oblivion.  On the other hand, it's now multiplatform, and if it catches on with 360's huge American WRPG fanbase, it could actually go pretty far.

Sony was actually pretty graceful about the whole Demon's souls thing, they didn't localize it but they let other companies do it instead of letting it rot and they aren't complaining about the whole dark souls thing or trying to spilt the fanbase by releasing a Demon's souls 2, they realize they let it slip away and they let it go instead of destroying it 

Sigh have you even looked at the game sales on the ps3 platform. That is honestly the funniest comment I have seen on this site by someone who isn't trying to just troll. Define random violence. 9 out the the top 10 ps3 games fit that defenition if the top 10 360 games fit in that defenition. 1.2mil on ps3 900k on 360 is my prediction.

random violence as in prototype or the Hulk video game, senseless would have been a better word and probably the one I was thinking of but it didn't click 

360 owners like ARPG too

i think 360 version will sell more than PS3 in NA

but for others,i think PS3 version wll sell lot more than 360,not just 50~100k

I'm still going with ps3 version outselling 360 version in all areas and atleast 2:1 overall 

I think since its Namco, it will sell overall around 950 K combined ltd.

Demon's Souls had word of mouth, Dark Souls needs to have the same word of mouth, GOTY from at least one major site (like IGN or gamespot), 90 on metacritic to reach that kind of sales.

And the PS3 version will outsell the 360 version everywhere, even NA.

It will definitely NOT do 2 million. No way. Unless Namco advertise it or something.

I personally hope it does 1 million or more on the PS3 and at least 1/2 million on the 360, but its not happening.

A big game like bayonetta couldn't do that, I am not keeping my hopes up for this one.

It will sell more on ps3 without a doubt. 3:1 ratio id bet. xbox gamers will never have played a game like it. 

You are wrong, the majority of xbox gamers like fps. Look a t the sales difference between final fantasy 13 on both platforms. You mean to say an unknown rpg made by from software will sell more on the 360 in NA< even though final fantasy couldnt?
