Yeah, it is. There's no console effort this gen, current or future that'll beat it simply because it's backed up by mad hardware.

While my PC can run Crysis on max with no problems it does look fantastic. Though I guess I prefer the art direction of other games such as FF XIII, KZ2, ME2, and U2. So I would consider those better for "my taste"

But yeah Crysis is a beast.

I don't know why I can't shake the feeling that it is overrated graphically , I watched some gameplay on Youtube but it not the same thing I assume .

Why do people still bring in PC in obvious console comparisons? Consoles are old hardware, so its unfair to compare them to PC.

If, at any point consoles end up winning then you know something's wrong. PS3 still has the best looking racing(GT5), hack and slash(God of War 3) btw.

lol, what you said is true though, I have yet to see a  hack and slash on the PC, last gen there was Prince of persia and stuff, this gen PoP took a back seat and Assassins Creed is not exactly H&S, and even then I don't think the PC version looks better than GoW3...

My initial point remains though. Comparing PC and consoles is just ridiculous. You can compare them when it comes to quality, but graphics is a horsepower thing and consoles don't evolve like PC does.

True, true. AC is also not all too different between consoles and PC (and I played with all graphical options on/max)

About Crysis...

It uses forward rendering for the lights and the sunlight is just directional lighting. No ray tracing:

The end result is an unrealistically flat image, the arm and the hat do not cast shadows. However, Crysis 2 was announced to (finally) implement deferred lighting:

It's fair to say that the title and OP were ambigious enough to warrant someone bringing up Crysis.  Instead of people just posting politely that it is console or PS3 only comparisons though they insist on trying to gang up on a user instead.  I just took the OP at face value as being an enthusiast of the games he mentioned.
