No, it isn't.
Just dance 2 released last year, a year after the first, and both have done 5 million. Casual consumers that buy these games don't think the same as core gamers.
There is no reason to wait 2 years for a dance game rather than 1 .....

i don't believe that for a second. Yearly releases are a damn good things as long as they can keep things fresh and make a great game.

Its just a friggin dance game. All they need is new songs, new dances, and some new features which they are working on.
CoD games are much bigger projects.

Personally can't think of many games that have yearly releases and still are fresh. The only one that came to mind was Assassin Creed Brotherhood, but that wasn't as fresh as 2 years gap Assassin Creed titles. I think 2 year releases are golden in the industry.
With the musical genre, I believe a year release is acceptable, because never know when the genre might just slip away.
