Because there are no indications, those figures are likely coming from Microsoft, so they are shipped/sold to retailers. Here Sony numbers are coming from GFK Australia, which is sold to consumers.

Btw 10 games/console is fucking huge.

1.1 m at the end of 2010. With NZ and 5-6 weeks of extra sales mean PS3 is undertracked by 250k at least. So 400k between UK and Australia!

The fact that MS declined to comment about total sales despite the fact that they've been happy to do so in the past probably means that gfk has PS3 ahead now.

I would guess something isn't coming through correctly in the translation/what they're taking from it software wise.

I can't even find the source article they got that info from though.

I freakin hate blog news. So unreliable and they never link back to the source.

Amusingly according to the original gamespot GFK newspost they made EVERY console has a 10-1 attach ratio on average. Since it's 16 million unit sales vs 1.6 million hardware.

Which... seems off.
