What new things were added to Pikmin 2, and is it worth getting as I have never played it...

2 new Pikmin types (White and Purple), randomly generated dungeons, new enemy types, more items, 2-player co-op, 2-player competitive, the ability to switch between two characters in single-player, and no limit to how many days you can spend.

It's funny you started this thread. A few hours before I saw this thread I had bought myself a copy of Pikmin 1 as I loved it back when I had previously owned it.

What new things were added to Pikmin 2, and is it worth getting as I have never played it...

2 new kinds of Pikmin, underground randomly generated "dungeons", a "meh" multiplayer function, no time limit so you can take everything at you own pace, these two power gels you can find that will stun enemies and supercharge your pikmin, a second character you can switch with in single-player.

and all the standard stuff, new enemies, areas, story, characters. if you like pikmin one i definitely recommend it.

Thanks I think I'll definetly get Pikmin 2 when I get enough moneys!

I loved NPC Pikmin 1 and 2 and wish for 3 to use the same controls as the 2 GC ports

I'm curious how this title is. Been reading a lot of praise for over the years and still have to play it. Just got the NPC1 for really cheap, and will be testing it when I go back home.

yeah it was okay but i didnt spend to much time with it. I dont ever recall it being really fun. great for if i wanted to school my younger brother at something or waste half an hour but that was it for me. If they want to bring back the multiplayer they have to add more stuff like different modes of play and what not.

You will love it if you like strategy games. Some people are fooled by how the game looks but it is not for kids at all. I even thought it looked goofy but from there on I learned to try out anything as it might be a great experience no matter how goofy it looks and now Pikmin is one of the best games I have ever played.

It is a good thing you bought the first game first though the second one is a lot better and longer :)

When you complete the game you will want more of it (I am thinking if you complete it you enjoyed it otherwise you would not)  and the second one brings in enough new stuff that it stays fun and never gets boring

I like strategy so it's all good. Don't mind the style, my only concern is how the cube's graphics hold up. But I'm sure I'll be hooked when I play it in two months time (can't wait!!)

And yup, that is my plan, dip my feet in the first, see how it goes and continue from there. We got the second NPC here, and with Pikmin 3 in the horizon it's looking good.

I want to be able to do more with my Pikmin. Be able to use Pikmin as a temporary bridge, construct a slingshot or something.

Also, it's about time we get to explore during night!
