Actually it never looked hot. Yes, it's totally hotless.
i'm so glad I had the game preordered and it's now waiting at my mum's to cross the channel and arrive to me next weekend! yay!!!....
well since i've been reading bad things all week I guess I can only be surprised by the game and not disapointed ^^
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
We all know Square and Nintendo love us consumers so much! They knew we wanted a Mario sports minigame fest! It's not like they're doing this to cash in on Mario! They loved us enough to make FF13 and delayed Zelda for us to be more hyped!

The fact that this doesn't use Motion Plus is a slap in the face
I hope it sells 40k lifetime

Well for those that actually looked into the game, and not rely on review sites. The game is good, fun, has depth! It not better Power Tennis, but it way better than Strikers, and Baseball.
The reviews are crying about single player, stats with teams, and progression and lack of commentator really. This is a Mario sports game not Madden! Who the hell plays a sports game for single player? The game is a online co op experience, and it works really well. It's a game you have to set down, learn all the moves and supers and play versus another person. Thats where the game shines!
| oniyide said: The game is sitting at a Metacritic score of 68 right now, that is a far cry from the 80s that the Mario sports games seems to have. From the reviews ive read, it seems the game is too shallow, not enough depth. While I understand it is hard to take a sports game and make it accesible and still have to have some kind of detail of the actual sport its emulating, the guys at Camelot made it look easy gen after gen, system after system. I was hoping it would fill the void that MarioTennis/Golf has left, but it seems that is not the case. Even with the online im gonna pass, it will probably do well anyway. This is a Mario game after all. |
It's more than one sport, and Wii Sports and Resort showed that reviewers have a problem with variety.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
And my respect for Square-Enix reduces even further.
We should have seen this coming to a degree though, Mario Basketball was nowhere near the quality IMO of Mario Football/Tennis/Golf/Kart
