What rank is Hotcakes at on Amazon?

My point for the topic: Nintendo will see what happens in February and March (usually very slow months worldwide) and if demand has been well satisfied they will keep the production levels at 1.8 million for the year, and should have a nice Christmas/New Year supply for the madness that will be December 2008.

If demand has still not been satisfied for Feb/March (January won't count because they will still be trying to finish the Christmas rush) then they will work as fast as they can to try get production to something near 2.5 million p/month... which would give them ample supply for 2 million sales each month, with extras left over whenever something huge is released, or for December in general.

I wanna hear a JL prediction about the Wii VR technology : )

nintendo will easily sell 1.8mil wiis a month in 2008

they will have to UP their production this summer, because they still won't be able to keep wiis on shelves for more than 20 minutes

you guys STILL horribly underestimate the Wii

even without wii fit/ssbb/mariokart, the wii would sell 1.8mil/month in 2008

with those 3 coming out, wii's demand vs supply will only INCREASE, and wiis will sell for a premium on ebay this spring

 lol, not a chance, around 60 it'll slow a little then the price will go down to 199, and it'll speed up again past 125-130, before the next price drop to $150 will send it past 250 million

The Wii is not the PS2.. we should not look at the PS2 as a model.
I would say the DS is the closest model, but the Wii already had the path created by the DS so it did not have the "slower" start the DS has... The Wii is an epidemic, the more there are the more people that are infected and want one. Demand will increase ex. until a market saturation point has been reached.

Christmas Wii parties are going to send demand sky high.

Wii Will Wii Will Rock you lol. Wii demand will increase bc more games and new markets opening up the saturation point of consoles if around 50M USA 50M EU 50M Japan however due to the Wii's casual sphere the saturation will be greater than 200M nuch greater and plus new markets emerging such as Korea and China.

In March there is simply no way Nintendo is going to lower production. Even the biggest non-believers shouldn't be able to actually believe that. The demand from this Christmas hasn't been met, and won't be as Feb. starts. Even if you could find the consoles on shelves by the end of March, there's still no need to lower production because they have to prepare for next Christmas as well as open up new markets.

Frankly, my expectations is that they are going to increase production to at least 2.2 million units a month in March, and they may even go for 2.5 million. But there's no way they will decrease production and it doesn't really make sense for them to hold it steady either. They will never be able to quench the demand without another production increase.

So many Wii's existing!!! So... Many!!! Soon, the world will be flooded with them! It will be the end of the world!
