I know that this is a bit late, but John Barry died on January 30th at the age of 77 (heart attack).
For those of you that don't know, he was a film composer and undoubtedly the greatest composer in the Bond series. He was the composer for the following Bond films:
From Russia, With Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (my personal favorite)
Diamonds Are Forever
The Man With The Golden Gun
Moonraker
Octopussy
A View To A Kill
The Living Daylights
Even though Monty Norman is credited with the James Bond Theme, Barry was brought in to liven up what was thought to be just a bland and uninteresting surf guitar riff. Since his orchestration and reworking of the theme, Barry went on to score 11 of the next 14 movies after Dr. No with his larger than life, timeless, and classy sound.
Mr. Barry, you were true legend and your music will live forever. Sorry that I didn't write this thread quicker since news of your passing wasn't as publicized as it should have been in the United States.
Anyone that would like to leave their favorite Barry Bond theme or memory in this thread feel free.
