Yes they're both doing great, PS3 more so because its price cut is a year old. Still, not a tie, go learn math psrock. |
Oh the irony.
All home consoles are statistically tied.

How so ? Do not many users on this site call the 360 and PS3 the HD twins?

No irony, can't you read, he said tie not statistical tie
I really expect the 3 consoles to stick like this until a major disruption occurs. They only disruption I see occuring is price cuts.
Dont see any software that will change this. Hardware levels are to high for a title, particularly sequels, to cause trajectory changes in hardware.
Could 3DS launch in Japan slow console sales a bit? Maybe since the 3DS will be the shiny new thing and some funds may get reallocated, but thing with the 3DS price point that will mostly be hardcore gamers and they already have consoles.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Minor ones. 360 down about 90k
PS3 up 140k
Wii up 20k
Not even sure if a price-cut would help Wii profitability. Nintendo would need software sales to make up for the profit-loss on the console. The problem is, Nintendo has almost no big games coming out for the next several months. Software-wise, this is easily the worst Wii year ever. Mario Sports Mix is pretty much the only decent game Wii has through March, and Conduit 2 through April. Wii is in a very, very, very sad place.
Most anticipated games of 2011:
Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith
Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

pedant :P and it's spelt maths :P

It's like I walked into a family dining room, with the cheating wife on one side and the gambling husband on the other, both throwing snide remarks and glares at each other, while little Doobie_Wop cries a little inside.
Oh hey, look at that, 360 is selling above 3,000 units in Japan now. Ain't that nice. I'm guessing more and more bullet hell fans are swarming to the weekly Shoot em Up releases the 360 has been getting as of lately. Sony's a barren waste land for the genre and it's such a shame when you consider that the PS3 is region free.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
