Forums - General - Your favourite and least favourite beer

My favorite, by far, is Yuengling. Great great beer from Pennsylvania. It's only sold in 15 states, so if you're not around the East Coast of USA, you've probably never had it. I've never met a person who hated the Lager. It's not everyone's favorite, but I've never heard a bad word against it.

I'm also a huge fan of Blue Moon, Guinness, and Honey Brown.

Heineken, Stella, Fosters, Coors, Miller, Busch, Bud, Corona, Sapporo. I only drink the shit if it's free, and even then, not so much.

Wow, I'm surprised how many people here hate fosters.  I've always thought it was a pretty refreshing beer.  Tastewise it's not great, but thats mass produced beer for you.

@rocket pig:  Spain actually has some pretty good mainstream beers, such as mahou, amstel and alhambra, although I doubt many people have heard of them unless they've been over here.

anyway, shitty beers aren't that bad.  As long as it gets you drunk, amirite?

There are "fringe" mainstream beers that are somewhat popular and decent, I think. America has Samuel Adams and that's a pretty solid beer and Sierra Nevada is a lot larger brewery than most people realize.

When I say "mainstream", I mean the shit you find in every bar, grocery store, and market that sells beer.

The beer I drink the most is Bishop's finger from Shepard Neame.

A fine choice, my good man. I'm originally from near where Shepard Neame is based, which means also local pubs are all Shepard Neame pubs. They produce and brew locally a version of the Dutch pilsner Oranjeboom, which is my favourite beer. Shame I now don't live down there at the moment as it's a beer that is hard to find in the midlands.

I don't like wheat beer, just in general.

I would love to go to the Shepherd Neame brewery sometime. I love pretty much all the beers they make. One of my friends got me eight Shepherd Neame ales for Christmas, which went down very well.

As for the Midlands, I'm from the Midlands too, there are a few good breweries. Church end in Nuneaton is good, as well as Quartz from Kings Bromley. Also, Burton-on-Trent is like the home of the breweries, so beer festivals near there are usually excellent.

Oh I forgot to mention, if you ever come to Richmond  Virginia make sure to try Legend. It's a local brewery which was pretty tiny up until 2 years ago.  They didn't even start selling in any size other then single 26 oz bottles until about a year ago when they put out six pack 3/4 pint bottles.  They only sell in richmond and the surrounding area but they have some pretty good stuff.

Baltika is easily my favorite, though I can't really tell you about one that I don't like...

Beer is bad.
