Guess that had more to do with high pricing and a lack of AAA titles.

when brandname and popularity is on your side,people buy your stuff,sony didn''t ship enough consoles to capitalize on that oppurtunity

and till the time they shipped more consoles,the brand name had been damaged and populrity went down

i think it's all depend on software line-up, japan is a confirm before x'mas, but if most western developers games has gone gold before that time, might get launch before x'mas too... and consumers demanding is very important too...

Don't know about the rest of the world but Sony Gulf said that NGP will be available by the end of the year

in the region (which mean a PAL release this year is almost certain and WW release is most likely)
