Um, the Wii shovelware doesn't sell well for the most part, neither did Ninjabread Man.

And it's the fact that the sales are frontloaded that is the proof most gamers dind't enjoy FFXIII (same with Other M and Heavy Rain), while gamers like games like Red Dead Redemption, Just Dance (it's not shovelware just because some people don't like it), and even Epic Mickey.

People did like Heavy Rain and you're going to have to deal with that.

"most gamers" does not mean "no one at all", so you're going to have to deal with that, and try to actually read the context of my comments.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

This is the only way to stop this threads:

Yes, Final Fantasy went wrong many years ago in almost all aspects, the stories are predictable and boring, full of cliches. The music is not good anymore and the gameplay it's not true to Final Fantasy roots. Everyone who said that they like the latest Final Fantasy games are just fooling themself, deep down they dislike them too. People just buy FF games for the purpose of adding games to their big collection. JRPG in general are not good anymore that's why games like The Last Story  need to sell very well in order to revive the genre.

In conclusion FF is dead and all the people that disagree are wrong.

Stuff like this will only keep threads coming as well as the poor taste in which your post is written.

Pretty much. Some people like any game, it's whether or not it appeals to the masses. Hence splits in reviews. Few games get all the same score, due to opinion

Lot of posts here, and the poll is interesting...more say it is, than isn't. Just those who post disagree with the article it seems (I haven't read all posts yet, so bear with me!)

Perhaps this should have been an "Against the Grain"

True, and it didn't really "stop the thread" did it?

Also, he#s entitled to his opinion, everyone is. So don't bash his opinion

No, simply no.

I don't see how Final Fantasy is burnt out. When we talk about sales then it's far away from being burnt out.
When we talk about quality then it isn't either, simply because quality is subjective. Seriously, if someone says that he didn't like FF XII or FF XIII or if someone prefers the older FFs, that's absolutely fine. But many let it sound like it's a fact that FF is "shit" now and this is just nonsense.

Every Final Fantasy has its' "haters" and "lovers", at least since FF VII, because that was the point when FF became popular worldwide. The reason for that is pretty simple: every Final Fantasy is different. Many probably don't like recent FFs, but that doesn't mean that they are burnt out.

Is that not the issue though?

Quality is subjective, and, as you say, since FF7, the series hasn't hit the same heights. Sales-wise it's stronger than ever, but the quality is far more debatable than it has been before.

Uproar has never been higher since FF13, and unless they pull it out of the bag (CERTAINLY NOT FF14) then they'll lose a lot of fans. It isn't dead yet, but, in my opinion, it's only a matter of time.

Do a metroid. Give it a break, and give them what the fans want...
