we already had many reports and interviews saying how NGP is easy to develop for and how devs can use many sources they used before on it with ease. This will cut cost, time and will come off as a very attractive option for devs. But hey we shall see when games start to get announced more right?

We already saw around what 10 games? NGP is getting a new Uncharted game, KZ, Resistance etc etc...but wait a sec! they had other games too!????? 0_0 no wayyyyyyyyyyyy ...

and from the sound of it, poor mans console is a poor choice of words from you, NGP will not be the cheapest device on the market who touts tech enhancements and who has console games/IP/and lol ports....I'll leave it to you to figure out which handheld will fit that bill by 'your' definition.

This thread took an interesting turn. Someone's stating the obvious and finds himself under attack. Some people are acting way too defensive lately and can't take the slighest bit of not-favoring-their-platform-of-choice.

M.U.G.E.N., you really need to re-read the thread. You shouldn't act surprised to read an insulting line directed towards you, if you were the one to launch several personal insults first. Additionally, there was a lot of misinterpretation coming from your side coupled with ignorance to understand the justification of HappySqurriel's initial comment. Why are Epic Games' comments not surprising at all? Because Epic Games wants to sell their Unreal Engine to as many developers as possible. Nintendo platforms have not much potential for profitability for them, because almost all developers can easily get by by building their own engines. Other platforms have much higher development costs, so licensing an engine becomes a common practice and since the NGP enters PS3/360 territory it's right in the ballpark where Epic Games wants it to be.

Remember that they didn't give a damn for the original PSP, that's because they couldn't sell their Unreal Engine for it.

I didn't say that the NGP was only designed to appeal to graphics whores, but that would be the group that would be most interested in the NGP over the 3DS at this point in time. Beyond that, Mark Reign has a rampant history of very anti-Nintendo statements ...

In 2006 when the Wii was still the revolution and the Wiimote had just been displayed, Mark Reign was giving a presentation to developers and justified ignoring the Wii because no hardcore gamers bought Gamecubes, and to demonstrate his point he asked everyone in the audience who owned a Gamecube to raise their hand; when the majority of the audience raised their hand he asked everyone who owned a PC, PS2 or XBox and played games on it to lower their hands. When it was only 10% of the audience who still had their hands up he said his point was made.

Unfortunately, Mark Reign is either too foolish or dishonest to realize that had he done a similar survey with any platform only a very small minority of core gamers/game developers don't own multiple platforms to play games on.

I am curious to see what they eventually put on it though. UT? Bulletstorm port? Really can't see it being Gears anyway.
