no, the only port we could see would be lost planet 2, and capcom dont need saving.

A positive thread about the NGP and from you? :O But... but how in Earth... who hacked... oh well.
I expect to see the Playstation Suite saving some small developers like Apple's app store, but not ports. X360/PS3/NGP multiplats are a given however, and that's a good thing as long as exclusive, tasty NGP games still release (which thankfully seems to be the case if the words of the SCEE CEO are anything to go by).

I told you and everyone I write both positive and negative threads about all three companies. If you check which consoles I own you'll note I own all the current gen consoles. I wrote 2 negative threads, one which I thought was nuetral but very quickly turned negative and two positive threads. I'd consider myself neutral though Sony is my least favorite of the three I still love their products and software.

I get the impretion thatb the whole point in the NGP is to let people expiriance home console gamign on the go. Also since the controles are almost identicle to the ps3 controler it will be very hard to muck up the port (like the the old psp). So if the game was good on the 360/ps3 then in will be 99% as good ont eh NGP. That...mgight actually work O_O
Will be very interesting to see how it affects the japanese gaming industry. They have been making very few home console games (compared to portable) because of the cost. but if they can make it for a ps3 and then put it on NGP as well then they will easily make there money back!
Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

NGP is what the game industry wants.
A powerful third platform to make their multiplats for. This means we may expect lots of PS3 360 NGP releases of games. And it also means all of those releases will be stationary games.
I LOVE ICELAND!

You guys got it all wrong! You're not supposed to go from PS3 to NGP, you're supposed to go from NGP to PS3. All dl games on NGP running on PS3.

Yeah they key I think to people buying a re-release is it adds something new. HD graphics, new DLC integrated, trophies.
But how about this: what if all PS3 ports to NGP were included for free with the PS3 purchase of the game? Kind of like digital copy on blu-ray movies.
Valve is doing it with Portal 2. You get a free copy of Portal 2 for PC on stream with a PS3 purchase of the game.
I hope NGP can do the same with ported games. Games from the ground up for NGP only wouldn't make sense unless you get a free copy on PS3. So you still only have to buy 1 or the other. It would be interchangeable, whichever copy you buy it for you get the other system copy free.

I think you got it wrong. PS3 games MGS4 and Yakuza were easily ported in a couple days to NGP.
At first I was like "wut? how could it... it's a demi-HD handheld...", but then it all made sense... more platforms = probably more money. And with the downloadable games, you have a whole new market on there. Could do major good.

From what I have seen, most people can be motivated to buy a re-release of a game they already own but this typically only happens if the new version of the game is released years after the initial release; and typically only if it is released on a handheld or next generation console. There are a handful of people who will buy multiple versions of the same game on different platforms at the same time, but this is an insignificant minority; and certainly not a good idea to build your business model around them. |
okay -- i'll conceed your point. really though, the way i'm envisioning this is something like the remote play that the psp already features.
now i don't have a psp so i may be a bit off on this but remote play basically lets you interact with your ps3 and play the games right off of your ps3. the thing is -- not many games are remote play enabled and the one that are enabled are psn (graphical not intesive games). the psp2 (err..NGP) appears to be able to handle full out ps3 games such as MGS4 even if it is slightly downgraded AND finally has the second analog to support all game types.
so in short what i'm saying is this -- i'll easily pay $500 for a psp2 if it meant i could remote play my ps3 games by whatever technical means is required to do it. that would be my selling point. i think it would be a great buisness model to allow that kind of back and forth. and for developers they could release the game as NGP or a ps360 release and let the consumer decided where they want to buy it.
i dunno, maybe i'm asking for too much. i'd be excited though.
