Forums - Sony Discussion - Third-party devs listed for Sony NGP

Sony touts strong external software support for new handheld; more than 80 Japanese and Western companies signed up for releases.

Sony's PSP successor--dubbed the Next Generation Portable (NGP)--was finally unveiled in Tokyo today, along with a small group of games that were confirmed as being under development for the new machine. While games such as Naughty Dog's Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4 from Konami, and Call of Duty from Activision were some of the highlights, it seems Sony is planning plenty more titles in the pipeline. While only a handful of developers and games were showcased at today's Tokyo announcement, it seems the Japanese hardware giant already has 82 third-party publishers signed up from across Japan, the United States, and Europe.

The bulk of the early support comes from Sony's home nation, with 48 companies confirmed by Sony as making NGP games. Major studios in the list include Capcom, Namco Bandai, Grasshopper, Level 5, Sega, Square Enix, and more. European companies include Ubisoft and Codemasters, while the Americas have 2K, Activision, Rockstar, Warner Bros Interactive, and more.

So the NGP has no 3rd party support, huh?

Damn, I think we will see many announcements in the next few months, especially at E3. Can't wait!

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

                                                                             #1                                       #2                                      #3

Am I blind or EA is not there on the list? lol Of course that means nothing :P

BTW, I wanna see people complaining about no support or how Sony screwed their way on the portable side of things with the PSP1. Look at this huge list and all these people (very) are wrong. Great job, Sony!

Where's EA? Need brands like Need for Speed, Burnout, Fifa, Madden, Sims to help draw in sales.
