Double post, the thread is broken
Looks interesting. Price it under 299€ and I will get it day one. Don't see the reason why price would be higher either. Tech wise NGP will not be as high end as PSP and PS3 were back in the day.
| Acevil said: Slightly disappointed, seems I would push this purchase back a couple of years, since it appears it does ports more than anything (my main problem with the psp). Also I need price information, if this is $300 and above for more than 2 years, I can't do it. If this some how is $250, I will purchase it near launch. I know sony fans go crazy for this kind of stuff, but why do you want exact same console games on handhelds? |
I want both. What makes a console game a console game vs a handheld. And don't say pick up and play casually cause you can do that on consoles too, it seems that's even the preferred genre mobile or not.
Mobile games can be just as immersive, complex, and hard as console games. I love playing FFVII and FFVIII on my psp. Very rarely do I ever go for games typically labeled as handheld. Even though they are in fact fun, they are just no funner than a deeper more immersive game.
| Kyuubi Ricky SSJ2 said: I have to admit that they didn't show anything I didn't expect. Looks decent though. But since games are on cartridges and PS3 games are like at least 10 gig in size, wouldn't that make games really expensive? Could potentially be £50/$60-$70 per game? Like N64 games. |
Can get 32 GB flash cards for $70 regularly these days. 16GB for $35. Prices are dropping fast.
It's obvious that over-engineering is all SCE knows how to do. It's like they have Homer Simpson in charge of product development.
Needs more cup holders and bubble domes, IMO.

They've been changing lately, and while I agree that the NGP might be a bit overkill, they've certainly gone out of their way to make it a nice piece of tech. Developers are praising it for how easy it is to program for and it's got the rear trackpad showing that Sony are actually trying to do something new with the device.
