Is that so strange? I like my hobbies the way they are, and I don't want people who don't care about them as much as I do to decide how it'll be in the future.

Personally i haven't held magazine editor's opinions with any value for years, case in point, in December of '96 Game Player's magazine did a write up about the saturn, ps1, and n64,
The saturn was declared to be the worst of the 3 systems,
not because of the games, it had the most good games
not because of the controller, it had the best
not because of build quality, up coming games, or any other reason
It was declared as the worst, just because.
Seriously they said playstation was the best for the same reason, even though in terms of quality and what not it was the worst but it was the best for no apparent reason.
Face it magazine editors jobs aren't in the real world so their opinions are skewed to begin with, second their salaries are paid by their advertisers, and guess what in general will not bite the hand that feeds them.

 I had almost for gotten about this comic. Good stuff Fazz.
