Forums - Nintendo - Amazon UK selling 3DS for £202?!?

It's still £202...

Should I cancel my pre-order at Gamestation and get one?

You could keep your Gamestation pre order for now and pre order with Amazon, then you could wait to see if Gamestation drops their price to compete with Amazon. If they do, drop Amazon. If they don't (or not by much), drop Gamestation.

Now taht's an interesting way to look at it!

I thought you had to put some money upfront though? Amazon was always bizzare IMO...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Yea, they supposedly refund the difference once the item is shipped, but be cautious with it, as Amazon tries to screw you over.  When I preordered Black Ops, the price lowered $6 and I wound up having to contact them to get my $6 refund and they said that they would be able to make a "one time exception" for my case, even though everything followed exactly what the guarantee said it had to.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Shopto.net sells it for 199 Pounds as far as i know

Argos have the best deal I have seen so far

£229.99 but you get an accessory Kit (£20) plus £60 worth of vouchers (effectively meaning it costs £150 for the console, or £127 for myself thanks to a familial discount :D). They also have another option for £259.99 with the same plus a game for £30, £9 off, but you are limited to a choice of Super Street Fighter IV, Pro-Evo Soccer or Nintendogs and Cats.

As far as I found Shopto has the cheapest actual price in Britain at £199.85.

Personally I wasn't ever intending to pre-order or even get the 3DS early in its life due to its prohibiting cost, but with the Argos deal I would be able to get it for, effectively, almost as cheap as I did the DS Lite, so I will be in the next day or two.

cool cool, looks like the aussie price will be $300.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

They took the open pricing in a less selfish way

It's all about market forces. If the market "accepts" a certain price, then that will be the price. If it doesn't, then the price gets lowered. Not enough of the market accepts he 229 GBP price, so competition drives it lower.
