Really? Do you have anything to back this up?
I can think of 3-4 worthwhile Wiileases. Is there really 40 worthwhile PS3 releases in the pipeline?
Let's wait until E3 to decide this

Fair enough, but IMO the Wii will easily outsell PS3 in Japan this year. Vitality Sensor is the main(but not only) reason Wii>PS3 in Japan for 2011. |
maybe it's just me but the VS is looking to be vaporware imo.
@conegamer - you've asked twice for proof on opinions,...we're all speculating so no one has proof for anything. even with expected game releases we have no way to know how big of an effect they'll have.

I know. But I like some proof when it comes to these sorts of things. It's alright saying "X will outsell Y" due to it having game A, game B, game C...whilst Y only has Game Q or something. I don't mind if it's hypothetical, but I like to se people's angles. I've been around other forums where there's been a lot of trolling, and I don't want that to be repeated here. Hence my urgency to decide upon proof or facts
However, as you rightly say, it IS all hypothetic. But perhaps it needs to be clearer about that, unlike this sentence

Since when does E3 decide what's worthwhile in Japan? If that were the case, Sony would have dedicated more than 3 minutes to the PSP at last years e3. |
Hmm...I suppose this is true.
Perhaps what I meant to say was "as with last year, not many of Nintendo's big games (or Sony's for that matter) were known at the start of the year. Personally, I expect this year to be no different."
Also, Rol, I understand where you're coming from. But it'd be nice if you didn't present opinions as facts sometimes

gotcha - no worries but you should realize that us (erh, the..) trolls are plentyful on this site -- just a bit sneakier about it. xD
anyhoo, i'm thinking ps3 wins this year just due to how quickly and dramatically the wii came down post holiday. i'd wager ps3 wins at least 40 weeks this year albiet by a smallish margin. then the wii takes the holiday again and wipes out most but not all of the ps3's lead from the rest of the year.
but that's just my speculation on the matter.

I'll keep an eye out for them then. None of the trolls here are as bad as that Last Story dude anyway...
I agree with your analysis of things, I believe without a price-cut the Wii really is d00med this year.
Then again, Patcher's been on overdrive as of late criticising Nintendo, so you never know, there's more likely to be floods in Australia and 2 feet of snow in Britain in November than there is for this guy to be right. And those 2 things are pretty much impossible
whats that new saying again,oh yeah
never doubt the wii holidays it can make you look a silly billy,
not sure yet
i back kilter with the weekly count too,i like that one
what happened has trestres handed over the baton
| Conegamer said: Yeah, but really, what HUGE game could Nintendo have up their sleeve for the Wii this holiday? Especially when you look at the 3DS as well... |
I also expect a Price Cut for both the PS3 and Wii this year by the way.(360 Too but its not in the thread)
Anyway, to answer your question...
Are you serious? Do you really believe that Nintendo is just sitting there saying "The Wii is doomed lets just abandon ship and move on to the 3DS."? I highly doubt that LOL... its just speculation and guesses from everybody in this thread at this point but my personal opinion is that Nintendo has something big for 2011.(Vitality Sensor is again my personal guess)
Think about it, what has Nintendo had that is a new Item(Peripheral) since Motion Plus? I am 95% sure that Nintendo has something new and unique ready for Wii in 2011 and I am that much more confident about that now after Move and Kinect...Nintendo isn't dumb and they realize that Wii isn't the only one with Motion controls anymore and they will want to set the Wii apart from the PS3 and 360. I will also predict that Vitality Sensor will be shown during Iwata's GDC conference about the past and future.
@Zlejedi -> Would you mind to edit the first post adding a chart showing the sales evolution during the year?
