I give alot of crap to WiiWare, I mean alot!! I check every week on the updates and I see nothing but what looks like Z level developed crap. While on PSN its nothing but gold every other week. I havent bought anything from WiiWare in god knows how long. I spend about 40 bucks a month of PSN. Thats just the stuff I but, im not even a Plus member. But then I was thinking, im no better than a typical fanboy who talks bad about a system they dont even own or probably have never even touched. Having had a Wii for a few years doesnt excuse me. I havent really tried any of those WiiWare games. So since Ninty(finally) implemented some kind of demo service for a limited(ugh) time. I said "WTF, I have nothing to lose, its not like im using all that extra memory on my Wii. So ill give my thoughts on 3 games Ive played so far
Pokemon Battle Revolution?? I dont even know if thats the right name. It was so long ago, it was one of the first demos. its that top down game where you get some Pokemon and have to knock out the others. I hated it, only for the die hard Pokemon fans. I stopped caring about that franchise after silver, for Gameboy
Furry legends. a very simplistic 2d platform game. It was lot better than I thought, I was expecting to hate it but its alright. Your some little green ball that rolls around and attack the evil squares. The only thing I didnt really like was that you had to lock on to enemies and use the nunchuks' stuck to direct the little bastard to attack. Maybe I suck but i found it to be cumbersome. A solid 3/5 its not the worst platform I ever played but not the best and for ten bucks there are too many better options out there, even on WiiWare.
BitTripBeat, ive heard alot about this game. I first started I was thinking "glorified pong" that went away in about five seconds. THis game is fantastic, funky, fun!!! Its like pong on shrooms and herion. The music is great, im gonna try and find that beat online somewhere. I love how it keeps you on your toes and switches it up to never let you relax. Even when you mess up and the screen goes black and white and the funky sounds come out of your Wiimote then seamlessly goes back into regular mode. Great stuff. This game could be essentially done using SNES tech, so IMHO that ten dollars seems to be steep. But you know what?? I was having so much fun, I might get a WiiWare card for the first time in years just for this game. Its that good. I recommend anyone with a Wii to get it, I dont care what your preference is
