Forums - Gaming - Against the grain: Why Super Mario Galaxy 2 would be better on the 360

Without the pointer functionality, the game loses much of its charm so it'd in fact be worse on the XBOX 360

This is pretty much what I've been trying to say over the past 50 or so comments. I'm glad Im not the only one who thinks this!

Also, it's interesting to see how much of a divide there is in the public's opinion really, between those who agree with the OP, and those who agree with the article linked in the OP. I never expected such a split, though, maybe I should have...

All I'm going to say on this is that I've always found it utterly hilarious (and pathetic at the same time) when I see people say "I'm not interested in that game, it's terrible" only to instantly jump around with excitement when that exact same game is then released on their console of choice...

It's a secret

TBF I had actually noticed the article several months ago, but I forgot about it when I joined the site.

For some reason I remembered it when I saw a similar message regarding Epic Mickey and The Last Story, so, with the 2 big new PS3 games this week, what better time to post it!

I have a feeling my next thread will be the most exciting. I just can't quite put all the information into words right yet, so it could take some time...

It would have better graphics- and with equal gameplay the xbox version would be better. Gameplay> graphics but there's no reason not to try and have both.

This is where I have to step in

The key thing about Galaxy 2 (and the first) for me is that the spin attack was implemented so well. How would it be done with the same satisfying feel on the 360?

Also, how about collecting the star bits? How are you going to point at the screen, collect the star bits without ruining the camera?

Not a bash at you or anyone, just questions. I agree that you should strive for both, but you shouldn't sacrifice gameplay for graphics. Galaxy 2 was a good example, but Epic Mickey or The Last Story would be just as fine to choose...

PS3 can do all that and PLUS add amazing HD graphics

PLUS add amazing development costs PLUS add amazing game development cycles!

The thing is, remember, would it make it any better, and worth it?

A fair few, actually. They said it was never worth it on the Wii and that the controls are horrible. Now it's ported, different faces

Same with fanboys smashing the Wiimote, yet LOVING Kinect...
