Forums - Nintendo - French site reports no LS for EU

http://www.jeuxvideo.com/news/2011/00048333-the-last-story-ne-sortira-pas-en-europe.htm

I won't bother to translate, they don't give a source or nothing. Reason... too much to translate as many languages...

well this is retarded... it basically implies that EU should never get any RPGs....

here's hoping either that the news is just a click magnet stunt or that it at least comes to the UK (I won't play with the french dialogue anyways so....).

- One of the arguments Nintendo gives is that they can't translate the game's title in all languages?  And another is that EU already has a busy schedule with 3DS launch, launch of Kirby etc..

If i am getting it right..

Yes, I read it today. They say that they are not bringing The Last Story to Europe because there are a lot of different languages to translate into and they have no time for it now. Apart from that, in the first part of the year the have 3DS launching, so it's practically imposible for them to work in The Last Story PAL and NTSC versions.

Yes, those reazons sounds totally ridiculous to me. There should be no RPGs games in Europe according to their words. Therefore, they have 3DS now...so it means Wii does not exist anymore??? is it too much work to make a translation once the game has already been finished? Come on, lazy people. I don't care about Mario Sport Mix, Wii Music 2 or Wii Relax, just bring this awesome game to the west and stop investing your time in useless software.

If this is true

Its absolutely absurd, that a Big ass company like nintendo cant ot wont take to the time to localize a game that that comes from a legendary well know developer to as many ppl as possible

why are they messin with all these RPG companies.. if they wont help them Xxpand?

Can't they just give them an English translation?  Does this mean that US won't be getting LS either?

EU is....

I don't give a damn if they keep the japanese voice-acting, i just want the game

Now that's just lazy.

MS did a complete and full-on translation and release of Lost Odyssey. How is Nintendo any less capable?

YES!

Has anyone else noticed? That whenever Nintendo-related leaks appear from a French site, they're always proven untrue?

Eurogamer is saying the same thing.

"Nintendo has explained its decision to only release promising Wii Japanese role-playing game The Last Story in Japan.

"With all the conversions, when we do it in Europe we've got to do the whole of Europe," Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton told Eurogamer. "So it's multiple languages. It has to be viable.

"We've got so much on our plate at the moment. The most important one is in the first quarter this year. Kirby's Epic Yarn is the most important title. We've got some great product coming out.

"On top of that, when we add in 3DS, it's just so much."

Nintendo disappointed many European and North American Wii owners when it revealed it's decision to keep The Last Story Japan exclusive.

The Mistwalker-developed title has attracted a great deal of attention from Western gamers through the release of eye-catching trailers and translated information from Japan.

While Nintendo repeated it's "no plans to release The Last Story in Europe and the US" stance to Eurogamer, it did offer a glimmer of hope.

"We've released quite a lot of RPGs on the Wii in the UK," Yarnton said. "It's an area that's been growing for us. It's up to the market. We never write anything off."
