Forums - Nintendo - Namco finally jumping in to milk the cashcow of dance/exercise gene

Its official.  The dance genre bubble is now going to collapse just like the Guitar Hero and Rock Band genres did.  So far none of the contenders are on the same playing field as Harmonix and Dance Central though.

Well...Tales fans aren't happy about it. At least the ones still on Facebook.

no more dance game please, enough with JD and JD2

Screw that, Just Dance 3 must never be born. We must send soldiers into the future to destroy it. Or maybe Robots into the past to keep JD from ever happening.

On a serious note I like the idea of Dance Central. I don't know how to dance worth shit and something that can teach me how to do so seems valuable to me. My friends want me to go clubbing with them and one of the biggest obstacles is I don't know how to dance worth shit. The other obstacle is I don't drink alchohol period.

I think dance sims like Dance Central could be useful.

That being said DDR and JD and such are pointless they don't teach you how to dance they are just rythmic games. Too bad I can't get Kinect (Not enough room and I can't be making noise the apartment below would complain). Otherwise I would buy Dance Central myself!

Not suprising when something is succesfull you can count on immitators jumping on the bandwagon as soon as possible.

Especially when you don't have high development budget reserves.

If the revenue made from these games is used to help localise Tales of Graces/f, Vesperia PS3 and Abyss 3D I will be delighted.  But in my heart I know it won't.

Don't say it should never be born it's somewhat different because of its songs and dance steps
since when those games are for teaching u how to dance??? they are, like u say, rythm games. If you wanna know how to dance go to dance classes and period. Those games are to have a blast of time with friends and they deliver especially JD2. And the drinking part, well it's not a problem if u don't. I haven't tried DC by myself but i guess it'll be frutrated 'cause of its accuracy

ExerBeat??? Bring We Cheer 2 to Europe, I don't want to import that one too Namco.

So dancing is the next guitar hero.

Can't wait till this genre colapses.

I hope that is soon.
