3D makes graphics look 10x better than they really are, trust me on that; for once, you see almost no aliasing in stereo. And the need to dynamically shadow everything diminishes as well, as you can perceive depth.

Did you actually see the 3DS in action or is this a general 3D graphics remark? (just curious)

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Not 3DS per se, but have played Oblivion, Left 4 Dead 2, Tomb Raider and even Morrowind in stereo 3D and it looks 10x better! And it will look even better glass-less.

I agree that the quality of the launch lineup of games is all over the place in terms of visuals from what I've seen so far.  Some games like Resident Evil, DOA, SF IV, and even some of Nintendo's offerings like Kid Icarus and Pilotwings look really good, while other games look terrible even by regular DS standards.

It seems that the 3DS is destined for the same problems that plagued the Wii and original DS by having a flood of developers put their crap on the system and then touting the tacked-on 3D effect similar to how many shoddy developers ported their terrible bargain-bin games on the Wii and then tacked on motion controls and called it a day.

The fact that some of the first 3rd party titles right out of the gate on the 3DS are more party / minigame crap-fests like "Deca Sports" says it all.  Hopefully the amount of good quality 3rd party releases that actually show some effort on the part of the developers greatly outweigh the bad.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

The graphics of 3DS games seem to vary.  IMO, I think RE Revelations looks the best to me, followed by MGS Snake Eater 3D

As with any system, the games vary depending on who is developing them. The Resident Evil games look awesome on the 3DS....some of the other games, not so much.

I'm not desperate, only the loyal nintendo fans, and the people desperate to buy the newest thing will buy this at launch. 3D is a gimmick, and i think the system can stand on its own, even without the shitty 3D, get that out of my gaming please.

I beg to differ though I am a Nintendo fan. Fact of the matter is any true handheld gamer is going to want a 3DS. A true gamer does not game based on company preferences but game quality and experiance. Fact of the matter is glasses free 3D will add an experiance you can't get anywhere else.

All those gamers who bought PS3's or 360's at launch will have just as much incentive to buy 3DS unless they are loyalists loyal to Sony or MS. Fact of the matter is any true real gamer is going to want at least to try the 3DS and play it themselves.

As for price, it will prevent non gamers and casuals from adopting it in droves. However there are enough real gamers out their who will want to experiance 3DS first hand. Look at PSP it launched at 300CDN and sold butt loads it was 250USD in the states and higher in europe. Yet the PSP sold very well , are you saying everyone who bought PSP was a Sony fanboy or a guy obsessed with always having the latest gadget?

I am well known for not liking Sony yet I bought PSP at 300CDN, I am not addicted to having the latest device. I just noticed that PSP had games I wanted to play and couldn't play on my existing platforms. So I put my hatred of Sony aside and bought a PSP so I could play those games.

In the end gamers will buy 3DS, not just fanboys and tech junkies. You may not want to spend the money but their are plenty of gamers who will. I am unemployed yet I am saving every dime I can scrape together to purchase one. I am sure where their is a will there will be a way and any true gamer is going to want a 3DS  just for the amount of software being released exclusively on 3DS.

Unimpressive OP's

A huge dissapointment for me.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I already thought the DS offers great graphics, so I'm sure I will be totally satisfied with 3DS games.

The 3DS will probably be both better and worse than the Wii or DS at the same time ... It is a handheld system after all; and, while third party publishers seem to be willing to support it with big budget games in well known IPs from the start, most of the games will be from much smaller development teams with much lower budgets simply because it is a portable game.
