Very true. But let me ask you this. Would you expect VGChartz to start tracking Iphone games?* No matter how much the industry wants it, the Iphone or any other smartphone won't be looked upon as a gaming device like any true portable game. So I will disagree all I want! EDIT: *If they could (along with other downloadable games) |
over 100M devices. almost 10 Billion downloads (of which games are suppose the be the largest section). EA, SE, Activision developing for the iphone among others. angry birds a cultural phenomenom. iphone games being ported to the ds/360/ps3. i personally have spend more time/money on iphone games this year than my ds.
put your fingers in your ears and close your eyes all you want,... apple is a part of the games industry and their importance is only rising.

I would like to see Apple smash the competition out of the industry. Would show how monstrous they really are xD Then we will see even more haters :p
Apple were very smart releasing this statement around the time of the Jobs illness incident.
Whilst share prices immediately fell after the announcement, this report meant that they already started to recover during closed trading.
Android is growing much quicker, lets see how long the Iphone will be the marketleader

How about we just settle for the term computer games (or computing games perhaps). After all, all these games do run on computing devices.

Each version has some new features which make it a must for Apple fans, these fans go out buy the newest phone , Pad or Pod. |
And yet, all the people I know with Macs/Ipods have often got REALLY OLD versions. They bought them new back in the day. Hell I even know of someone who has a G4 Macbook from 2003 or thenabouts. Apple is also really good at supporting older hardware in comparison to other competitors. They only just dropped the iPhone 2G from support and how old is that again? Whereas with many competitor products the companies have dropped support for their new devices sometimes as little as 6 months down the track with users having no easy way to update to the latest version.
Tease.

Yeah, there is a very healthy used market as well. Apple seem to hold their prices much better than the competition. The people who upgrade can sell their stuff pretty easily for good prices.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

In most cases the reason is the hardware is typically better built and better supported. Often you could argue that a used iPhone 4 would be better than the majority of the competitors to the iPhone 5. The reason is that Apple only really uses cutting edge technology when and where it benefits the end user,s so the iPhone 4 screen and camera are good examples. They also use their technology better given an iPhone 4 is still the most responsive phone I have ever laid fingers on, it beats by WP7 and that beats any Android I have tried. I only got a WP7 because I liked the interface a little better and because I have shaky fingers due to needing beta blockers.
