I'm glad for Ballmer's wife she likes Kinect: considering that big dugong forbids their children to buy iPods, she had to be the only one amogst her friends forbidden to buy a Wii and Wii Fit...

I remember back then MS was focused on calling the 360 a "gaming console" and SONY was touting about the PS3 being a "total entertainment center" and Microsoft then criticized them for it.

Just like they did with HDMI, High-Def media, Wireless, etc...


I guess the implied statement is that Microsoft steals Sony's features after saying said feature isn't important.  If so, I bet I could come up with a few examples of hypocracy from Sony, too.  And probably Nintendo.....

I agree with you and I don't think it is a bad strategy. I just think it only highlights where people stand when they ignore the obvious hypocrisy.

Newsflash::::

This just in.....Windows IS NOT a computer operating system...

It is  a household happiness enabler....

Specifically,  it enables a family/household to organize, edit, and view all of the  family documents, home movies, streamed movies, music files, picures, games, and  surf the internet and etc.....

an happiness enabler that to afford must get an loan and only to have to have it crash and suddenly turn from household happiness enabler to household destruction when it doesn't work.

Is it even possible for a company like Microsoft to have a 'sole focus'? Anyway they've answered your question  already and thats 'no'. Its kind of obvious really to NOT ignore a large proportion of your game buying population, obviously.

But this is like you buy an console that was reguard as the adult hardcore machine only for an few years down the track the company going okay lets turn it into an family freindly device. While it may offer the hardcore stuff you would want the company to focus mainly on the hardcore stuff, because thats what you bought the machine for. 

It SONY was to turn around and say, Well the PS3 plays High Def games but from now on its SD all the way. You would feel ripped and should of brought an wii instead.

That's completely different. The 360 is still doing all the same things it has ever done - Putting Kinect with it and adding Kinect features doesn't take away from what 360 consumers already have with the console, it only adds. If PS3 took away HD that would simply be removing features.

I highly doubt the 360 will be overly infested with Kinect-only games. It's barely the beginning of the year, have some patience for Microsoft to announce some new games.

 

Edit: Unless of course, you meant if PS3 games started getting released without HD support somehow. If that's the case, I see what you mean, but like I said, I doubt Microsoft will overly infest the new year with Kinect-only games. They'll do both at the same time, so they aren't removing the hardcore games, and I'm sure there will be enough of them.
