Whats sad is the antagonists made far more sense and you could put yourself in their shoes more so than the protagonists. What a sad day for story telling.

Even though I liked the game, I agree with your comment (but I dont think its the worst). Still a very solid jRPG nonetheless. Particulartly with this gen standard.

Hmm at times I consider it a horrible game, at other times I consider it decent.... alright. I think something is wrong with me.

It would have been a better game if I didn't cringe everytime any of the characters said something.
Why announce it? Just play the damn game. Listening to other people's biased opinions, boldly stated as facts, raises or lowers expectations, then that leads to unnecessary rants either about square enix selling out or how spoiled and bitchy the gaming community is.

Why yes. Yes it is. |
I do hope you'll share your thoughts with me on the game when - or if - you finish it. I'm actually going to play it very very it soon as well, it'll be the first Final Fantasy game I play to the end. Fortunately I'm not expecting much, I'm no Final Fantasy veteran. A friend of mine simply gave me the game because he hated it so much. I really have no idea what to expect, but I'm sure it can't be totally terrible.
More than a few of my friends tell me it's bad, but I'm going to give this game the benefit of the doubt. Can't be any more boring than Lost Odyssey at the very least, and I had the patience to 1000G that game. I do hear this game is a marmite though, but hopefully I'll like it enough to put up with it to the very end.

How technical is your game?

I am about 4 hours in, and I have to say it is growing on me. Mainly the enemys though. The combat also gets deeper and deeper the more you play. But it is still a shallow pool at where i am at. Thats all i got for now lol

Well the combat sounds engaging at least. That's a big plus for me. Is the battle system fast paced at all? One of the main problem I had with Lost Odyssey was that the combat was too slow.

Thats because Lost Odyssey is a traditional JRPG. FFXIII isn't. It's becoming quite evident with the main franchise the traditional turn-based style is dying out for a quicker paced style. Less strategy is involved to tell the truth. For a large portion of the formal chapters you can survive by merely pressing x and letting the game auto fight for you. Whats engaging are the battle animations. It's interesting to look at until you realize your presence is useless.
