Forums - Sony Discussion - Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance (GT5 A-Spec)

The endurance events are not for me. I did the 60 lap one, then fell asleep during the 90 lap one at laguna seca. I literally jumped awake parked in the chicane. I was still ahead so kept going for a bit, then paused the game for a break. When I got back I must have hit the wrong button, since suddenly I was back at the start at 0/90. WTF why is there no confirmation dialog on restart race???

I'm running them in B-spec mode now to unlock the X1. Too bad it's not like GT4 where you can switch between A-spec and B-spec mode during the race and speed up the race during B-spec. I'll just play the good bits separate, driving at sunset and sunrise on nordschleife is awesome.

That's why I always bought an underpowered car to those endurances, mainly because to avoid boredom.

The only race where that happened to me was on Tsukuba 9 hours endurance, mainly because it's such a low speed track and you have to do almost 600 laps in it.

Surprisingly, the same thing hasn't happened on Le Mans yet, probably because I love the track and driving around it in a class C race car forces you to be on the edge all the time, especially when driving it with a wheel with Force Feedback set to max XD.

I've yet to see the day-to-night transitions on the nurburgring, though I've already raced it on night. It makes the name "Green hell" have a whole new meaning xD.

Damn this endurance will be tiresome, and very boring, it's too bad you can't save inbetween and play a different game to have a break inbetween, lol.

I think when/if I get to level 35, I'll be using my Toyota Minolta 88C-V Race Car, since it's extremely light, has great acceleration and the handling is so much better than anything I've raced before, probably thanks to the soft tyres though, lol. Either that, or I'll use my Formula Gran Turismo, it's just as good, but feels slightly heavier on the corners, which I don't quite like to be honest with you, but it was only 4,800,000Cr. anyway, so I don't mind too much.

I don't know whether there are restrictions to the race. Any indication?

this is insane. you have to do 24h str8? or are there saves in between?

Nope no saves, you have to do the 24h in one go.

So how can you do it in chunks of 12 hours then?

You can pause it any time you want, but you can't exit the race.

I tried to avoid using either of those, but the Minolta IMO is the best option of those two.

Not only will you get more life span for your tyres, the FGT handles like an elephant over ice when the grip gets anywhere below 20%, even on Racing Soft.

Or you could use a X2010 and try to get the maximum amount of laps as you can . Since my current best time on Le Mans, with my carbon X2010, is 2:06, which is 1,36 times faster than my current best lap time on the 787b, and i'm looking at an overall 380 laps to finish the endurance, you could easily do over 500 laps with the X2010.

Yeah but first I need to unlock the X2010, lol. By the way, what's the top speed on it, and how much does it weigh? I assume it's lighter than the Minolta, and tons faster or something? Can't wait until I've got it in my garage, lol.

You can win one in the Sebastian Vettel event, unlocked at level 30, by getting a bronze in it. Or you get one for free when you reach level 35 in B-Spec.

With an oil change, I managed to do 480 km/h on the straight in Nurburgring. It weighs as much as a F1 car, 535 kgs, and has 1556 bhp. It's best feature however, it's the fan down-force effect, which sucks the air beneath the car and allows it to have massive grip on corners.

Have you done the Citreon rally car seasonal event? You get a lot of experience, 1.5M credits and its a lot quicker than the endurance races haha.

Also how do you get the X2010?

Yeah, I've done all the seasonal events so far, every of them with Stock cars. The events themselves are pretty easy.

You get three X2010 from the Sebastian Vettel special event, the Red Bull livery one for bronze, random colour one for silver and Stealth Carbon Fiber one for gold. Also you get the Red Bull livery one for reaching B-Spec level 35.

Doesn't it get very boring lol?
