Does anyone else find it weird that Nintendo is using things like the catholic hell in games like NSMB and now they've trademarked amaterasu(spell?), which is a Sun deity. Once again relating to the hell of fire. Are they mocking us lowly humans?

They always try not to have any type of religious symbols. They took the cross off Links shield (LoZ) and they got rid of the chanting in the fire temple (OoT). I'm sure these examples you've given are merely coincidence.
