Forums - General - Obama's approval rating back in the positive

For the first time since May 18 2010 Obama has a net positive approval rating thanks to a recent spike.  Probably a result of a drop in unemployment and a well received speech.

Obama's current job approval stands at a net negative of 4% with 47% approve and 51% disapprove according to rasmussen and gallup's results were a net positive at 49% approve and 43% disapprove.

I think things are turning around for the administration quite fast and Obama is on track for a smooth re-election.  Of course the unemployement rate dropping .4% to 9.4% in a single month will eventually rise back up to 9.6% or so.  If it doesn't I'll be happily suprised as it might singal a trend towards a quicker recovery.

Nice to hear. I like Obama and his cool and relaxed attitude. Sure, he couldn't keep all of his promises but what president has. To me, he's trying and it shows. I would like to see him re-elected and I would vote for him if I could :D

Makes sense, after surrendering on tax breaks and rising above the rancor surrounding the Giffords shooting. The latter definitely makes him seem closer to the post-partisan he promised

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The US Gov't are going to have to start plugging that deficit soon, and whoever's in charge at the time is going to be very unpopular.

Polk managed to fulfill all of his campaign promises. Now that was a good president.

Its probably because the economy is actually getting pretty decent now.  Not great mind you but its much better then it used to be.

good news i respect anyone who trully tries for the better.

I actually really like Obama as a character and what he stands for. I think that Bush has created a mighty mess to clean up, time will tell whether Obama is up to the task of revitilizing the US ecnonomy.

What did Bush do exactly? I am ignorant to this subject, and wish to understand. Wasn't the senate mostly democrats after the election in 2006? Wouldn't it be their fault, or am I wrong?

The economic mess that we are in now was decades in the making, no one administration can be put to blame - it's been a failure at just about every level of society.
