So let me just get this straight - is this pulling new song support from any RB Wii game, or is this just some sort of network that allows users to put on it their own songs (and then for me to download those)? Will this prevent me from buying extra songs for RB games? If this is only for user generated songs, I couldn't care less, and I would think it is meaningless for the vast majority of Wii RB buyers. If this is pulling the ability to buy songs from well known artists on the other hand...

RBN is where Harmonix posts new songs for RB3.

So for example let's say in 2 weeks RB3 PS3/360 gets the entire HIM album (Yes, I listen to HIM), RB3 Wii will not get them.

So Harmonix post new songs for RB3 only on this Network (this is what your answer sounds like)?  There is no online shop where I can buy songs from artists I actually heard of and add them to the game in the form of DLC?

I only know that RNB is Harmonix' downloadable content server for Rockband titles.

Ok, I thought you knew what you were talking about, but having googled a bit, it looks to me like you are wrong. Nothing personal but it looks to me like you are misleading with your interpretation of this pirece of news, though probably not on purpose. You see, from what I could gather, this network is for user uploaded content. Songs by well known artists are and will continue to be sold on the RB store, which is NOT the RB network, In fact, if you re-read the news piece you quoted, you may see that is what it says. Of course i may be wrong, but this is how I read that news piece AND what I gathered from Googling a bit (and visiting the RBN site).

[added] - So unless I am somehow wrong or one is specifically interested in that type of content (probably not many WIi users), it doesn't suck that this specific support has been pulled. Personally I couldn't care less about this network.

Its official!  Harmonix hates the Wii.  Legs for RB3 have now been killed, and I think we can suffice it to say that there will not be any more Rock Band games on Wii.

Harmonix also previously stated that they were interested in porting Dance Central to PS3 but not to Wii. I feel really bad for people that bought the expensive Mustang and keyboard peripherals.  They kind of just got screwed.

Many of you may not realize that the best and single most innovative part of RB3 has not even been released yet:  The Squier guitar.  This is the sole reason I bought RB3, so I can learn play REAL guitar while also learning new songs.

I love RB3 and I ended up buying it on PS3 because my PS3 has a 120 GB HDD that can hold a lot of DLC.  I'm so glad I didn't buy it on Wii!

Most anticipated games of 2011:

RBN is on RB2 Wii? Really?

Yeah, i swear it had gotten passed over for both Rock Band 2 and Rock Band 3 on Wii, and that Rock Band Network was on neither, just the regular DLC

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Did the RBN launch with Rock Band 3 for Wii, I didn't think it was available in Rock Band 2?

Well, there goes the Between the Buried and Me songs I wanted to play -.-'

I can't imagine it was that expensive to maintain

Apropos of nothing, on what date does Harmonix return to going independent?

So, um, were Wii owners even given proper notice with the Rock Band games that use this?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

To be honest, I had no idea that RBN was even available to Wii owners. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that fact. But, they'll continue with the regular DLC so I guess its ok?
