It's the same lesson as Mario and Sonic, Carnival games, Just Dance games: family games is the Wii's bread and butter. And release them baby's during the holiday's. Sony should learn this lesson.

In what way is Epic Mickey a family game?  It's one player for a start.

It's a Mickey Mouse game.

I think you're confusing a family game (which is one that can be played together as a family, such as Wii Sports or Singstar, but not EM) with a family-friendly game (which is one that isn't likely to offend or upset, such as EM and the vast majority of video games).

the vast majority of Wii games, yes. Epic Mickey is the perfect game for the wii, it fit the userbase perfectly, and in Amrica, it's a huge brand. What third party should and a couple are ( ubisoft) is focus on that family friendly market release games that fit those needs. With over 30 million users in the US, I expect plenty of Disney games on the Wii.

Yeah, they are making nice profits on those kind of games on Wii. It is pretty easy to see when you take a look at the top selling 3rd party games on Wii; 3rd parties aren't stupid, they know their audience.

You said it, Epic Mickey's budget was probably close to HD blockbusters. I'm not even sure they're happy with the sales. If you spend a large amount on TV ads and such, you need to sell millions to make up for it.

It sold 1.3 million in just the United States, and only last month.  If their expectations were much greater, I'm not certain that they would be justified in any way.

Yeah, I even saw an article somewhere saying they were "thrilled" with the high sales, explaining they've already turned a profit, it's the fastest seling game with a Disney character in...

What's not to like?

We reckon this means Kindom Hearts 3 could be on Wii/3DS?

KH3 better have enough FF characters in it.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

OK, if they say so... maybe I'm just grumpy because I don't like the game.

Well, that's fine, but no need to bash the sales of it though
