I think you just proved the OP.  If a console has good specs and crappy sales guess what, the console manufacturer will go bankrupt.  If you enjoy something you should care about sales becuase if something doesn't sell, the company behind it fails.  Crappy logic.

That would be ideal. It can't outperform the 3DS without having a heftier price tag and worse battery life. It's time to consider a new approach when your competitor has goggle-free 3D at a reasonably high price. You need to undercut it, even if it means not creating a PSP2 significantly more powerful than the PSP. Hell, just put in a touch screen (maybe), dual analog and maybe four shoulder buttons, and nobody will care if PSP2 games look last-gen.

He was saying that Playstation fans want exotic hardware with high performance with no regards to the trade-offs. You can see it whenever you do a PS4 specifications speculation thread. Hell, whenever you browse a PSP2 thread. The specs I have seen for the PSP2 from some people are so cutting edge my eyes bleed to read them!

Anyway its more because some people combine ignorance of hardware with boyish enthusiasm. Im sure you talked about owning a car with a rocket engine when you were a kid? Its the same deal here.

You guys have a very valid point, I agree with that, but still you can't generalize that Sony fans care more for the experience than for the company, with posts like this one:

You haven't seen ethomaz posts have you? One might assume he's the Sony PR representative for Brazil. I was just saying a good deal of them do care for the sales, probably even more than those who care for HW. After all, this is a sales site :p

Not true. It depends on the quality of the PSP2 architecture. Its possible to have lower power, higher performance and the same or better battery life. I mean look at Microsoft, they managed to make a cheaper console with similar performance and which used less power. In the handheld industry things are even more dynamic. Face it, if it weren't possible for Sony to make a higher performance handheld given Nintendos conservatism I would say, shoot them now to save them the humiliation!

I hate SONY, I hope they rot!
